On 5 August, a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Building Materials Industry under the Uzsanoatkurilishmaterialari Association was held to discuss the draft Strategy for the Development of the Building Materials Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.
It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzsanoatkurilishmaterialari Association, the international consulting company Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Uzpromstroybank.
During the video conference held on 30 April 2021, chaired by the President of the country, dedicated to the discussion of measures for the development of local industry, as well as in the Decree of the Head of State from 9 June 2021 "On Additional Measures to Increase the Industrial Potential of the Regions", a number of tasks aimed at the development of industry were identified building materials of the republic.
In particular, at present, the Council for the Development of the Building Materials Industry, attracting foreign experts, is working on the development of a strategy for the development of the building materials industry.
At the meeting, the participants first comprehensively considered the existing problems at large enterprises, studied by representatives of the Association "Uzsanoatkurilishmaterialari", Uzpromstroybank and the international consulting company "BCG", as well as ways to solve them.
Then they were familiarized with the scenarios for the development of the building materials industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030 and the draft strategy.
“When developing the draft strategy, attention was paid to a number of aspects,” said S. Annaklichev, Chairman of the Board of Uzpromstroybank JSCB - Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Building Materials Industry. - In particular, these are the tasks of using the potential of districts and cities in the development of the building materials industry, identifying enterprises-drivers in the field, attracting enterprises into the global production chain and establishing export of manufactured products together with third countries, creating conditions for attracting private, foreign investment and modern technologies that ensure the production of high-quality and competitive products.
The issues of expanding the value added chain, reducing production costs and costs, increasing the competitiveness of products manufactured on the basis of deepening the production of finished goods and materials, and effectively using the opportunities of small industrial and special economic zones were also noted.
The need to pay special attention to the training of professional personnel for local industrial enterprises, taking into account modern trends, and the widespread use of training programs, was emphasized.
